History of Vellabox

Our journey to deliver elevated and natural Vellabox signature scents to our U.S. and Canadian community of candle lovers started over on the West Coast.

It was in Los Angeles in 2015 where our team poured the foundation to what is Vellabox.

The idea for our brand sparked when we wanted to show that it is possible to have elevated smelling candles while also prioritizing the environment.

We wanted to show that you can have both.

To get our feet off the ground, we teamed up with small batch, artisan candle makers to create our subscription and gift boxes.

Our Growth

Six years later, our box still features a different candle maker each month who produces candles in small batches (aka producing what’s necessary without wasting resources).

Our team selects seasonally-relevant scents from their line that are Vellabox approved. So even though there may be a different artisan partner each month, the quality remains the same:

• 100% natural wax
• Cotton wicks
• Phthalate, paraben, cruelty and dye free
• Premium fragrance oil

Something you might not know about us is that Vellabox is a small business. In six years, we started as a team of two and now have grown to almost 30 employees.

We’ve evolved quite a bit over the years, rebranding a few times and working up to a more elevated look while keeping our candles and subscription affordable! (Have you noticed our recent logo rebrand??) 

We’ve gotten to know our customers, the candle industry, and are always on the lookout for the latest trends. We look forward to continuous growth that takes all of that into consideration.

With all that in mind, we have a big announcement for you!

It’s something we’ve been working on for quite some time now to make sure it’s a perfect match for Vellabox.

The Vellabox Signature Collection

Introducing our in-house Vellabox signature collection! This marks our first ever branded candles.

These candles are more than just hand-poured in Columbus. They were mixed, sniffed, poured and burned by our expert candle crew.

Not to mention they’re elevated scents curated for you and a clean burn for the environment.

All of our in-house candles contain 100% natural wax and are phthalate, paraben, and cruelty free. 

Available in our 4, 8 and 16 oz jars AND did I mention each scent comes with its unique Spotify playlist.

Cucumber Detox

Our citronella collection is your new go-to staple for enjoying the great outdoors.

Whether it be a backyard BBQ, late night fire or camping trip, we got you covered. Poured in our largest 16 oz jars, our citronella candles have a 80 hour burn time.

Pure Citronella

Keep those bugs at bay when outdoors. This floral, soft lemon aroma is the ultra natural insect repellant.

Raw Sugar & Mandarin

A delightfully sweet touch makes for a mouthwatering blend.

Black Currant & Saffron
