How did Doe A Deer get started?
The product side of Doe A Deer started as an experiment more or less. I wanted to try creating some products just for the heck of it. After getting what I thought was a great response at the time, I continued creating new products and searching out stores that would carry my products in their shops! In 2016, I left the corporate world for a more creative track and opened my online boutique.
From a young age, I always admired the patterns and designs in vintage linens, cookbooks, and packaging. It was these small details that always brought me back to some of my best memories from childhood. It only made sense that Doe A Deer would specialize in kitchen decor and home goods designed to inspire a sense of nostalgia in our everyday lives.

Can you describe your product featured in this month’s Vellabox?

What has been the best part of your job?
I love getting to see customers reactions when they see our new designs & offerings. Gift-giving is my love language, so getting to help people pick out gifts is a dream.
What is something you learned from working in this industry that you didn’t know before?
I went to college for graphic design, but working with textile design & printing is a whole other world. I’ve learned so much about fabric manufacturing and the process. It’s so interesting!
